We’re excited to announce LOCAL GLASS PICK-UP to our neighbors in Alexandria & Pineville!
How it Works
We’re proud to offer curbside residential glass pick up in the Alexandria & Pineville area! Note: This EXPANDED PILOT program begins with Alexandria & Pineville area residents and–with success–will be extended to neighboring communities. Residents can consider their monthly subscription as both payment for a useful service and a monetary donation to support the sustainability of Glass Act Recycling.
At this time, we are only able to accept RINSED food- and beverage-grade glass bottles and jars. We CANNOT currently accept: Mirrors, ceramics, lightbulbs, glass medicine bottles, or candle jars.
How big is the pick up bin?
The iconic yellow Glass Act Recycling bin is 27" x 17" x 12."
What day is the pick up?
For the expanded pilot program, pickup will be the 2nd WEDNESDAY of every month. *Pickup days are subject to change. If there is pick up day change, you will be notified via email.
Do I keep my bin inside or outside?
It’s up to you! These bins are very durable and can be used indoors or outdoors. Plus, they have flaps that act as a lid! Either way, please make sure glass is rinsed clean (no need to remove labels!) before it’s put in the bin.
Where should I place the yellow bin for pickup?
Anyplace convenient for you that can be seen from the road and is separate from your regular garbage pickup.
